Always research emails competitions and contests before you give out your private information. How did you win the contest if they dont know who you are? Do any of you remember applying for this supposed Microsoft contest? It reminds me of the scam back in 2000 or before that a gentleman from an Arabian country was asking for help and if you send so much money they will send you more back.I recieved such a letter. The biggest clue is that they are asking money from you
To the person that gave out their personal information I would check with all three credit bureaus, Equifax, Experion and I dont remember the third one. You can alert them all to the fact that someone is trying to steal your identity. They will flag suspicious requests for information or for credit. I would also alert my bank. I hope you did not give out your social security number. If you did I would call social security and get that checked out as well. Good luck

Me too, i also received the last email shown here, i called to UK to Al-Hassen Aliu and he told me that everythings allright with that email but he told me also about the highly expensive delivery service for the cheque...i called microsoft germany and they told me that it is absolutely fake, that i also sent back to Al-Hassan Aliu, he called me back and seemed to be sad about it. i don't know. maybe i lost all the money i won but...it's too unrealistic to pay so much delivery costs(640-470 pounds) for a won price, isn't it?

Also, anything with the name Todd Garvin who supposedly is with Microsoft is also a scam. I just reported the scam to Microsoft and they shut his e-mail down. I don't know if this will stop him from scamming but at least I was able to drop a few bombs at him.
